Verschiedene Umgebungsfaktoren wie beispielsweise Gleise, Leitungen oder Fundamente erschweren oder verhindern oft das Aufspüren von Kampfmitteln. In diesen Situationen setzen die Fachleute von TAUBER auf Georadar. Da mit diesem Verfahren auch nicht-metallische Störkörper detektiert werden können, wird es auch für andere Aufgabenstellung wie beispielsweise die Leitungsortung eingesetzt.
Messprinzip
Georadar ist ein aktives geophysikalische Verfahren. Seine Funktionsweise ist mit einem Echolot vergleichbar: Eine Sender-Antenne strahlt elektromagnetische Wellen in den Untergrund aus, die sich im Boden ausbreiten. Trifft eine Welle auf einen Störkörper oder eine Veränderung des Untergrunds, wird sie reflektiert. Eine Empfangsantenne registriert die reflektierten Wellen.
Durch die Verwendung von abgeschirmten Antennen kann die Ausbreitung der Wellen in eine Richtung fokussiert werden. Georadar-Messungen sind daher auch direkt neben Störkörpern – wie Zuggleisen – möglich.
Die Eindringtiefe des Georadars ist von geologischen Verhältnissen und den gewählten Messfrequenzen abhängig. Deshalb eignet sich dieses Verfahren hervorragend für trockene und sandige Untergründe. Bei sehr guten Böden kann es bis zu einer Tiefe von fünf Metern detektieren. Bei vielen anderen Böden sind meist noch Eindringtiefen von zwei bis drei Metern möglich.
Für spezielle Aufgaben setzen die Geophysiker:innen bei TAUBER auch Bohrlochgeoradar, Bohrlochtomografie oder auch ein spezielles 3D-Radar ein. Letzteres ist durch seine speziellen Antennengeometrien und eine sehr große Datendichte speziell für die Unterscheidung von Strukturen geeignet. Aus diesem Grund eignet es sich neben der Kampfmittelsuche auch hervorragend für das Auffinden von Leitungen oder alten Gemäuern.

TAUBER-Experten:innen setzen Georadar im Frequenzbereich von 100 bis 1000 MHz ein. Bei den Antennen handelt es sich sowohl um ein- als auch um zweifrequente-Messsysteme.
